Pavilion Rentals

Park pavilions available for parties and other events

Park pavilions can be the ideal venues for weddings, graduation open houses, birthday parties and other events. The Recreation Department offers a variety of facilities and rates.

Facilities that rent on an hourly basis must be rented for a minimum of 2 hours. All setup and cleanup time for your rental must be included in your overall rental time. Access to the building is only allowed during the time you have rented.

Reservations are available:

All reservations require full rental payment at the time of the reservation with a credit or debit card. If making reservations in person at the office, you may pay with cash.

Please make reservations well in advance of your event. Reservations are accepted for the current calendar year and through December of the next year.

Rental rates vary by facility. All rentals are subject to 7.875% sales tax.

Non-profit agencies may rent facilities at half price Monday-Thursday. Proof of non-profit status must be presented at the time of reservation.

Cancellations must be made 30 days prior to the reserved event date to receive a refund. All pavilion rentals are due rain or shine. No refunds are available for inclement weather. Reservations can be transferred to a different date if the request is made 2 weeks prior to the reserved event date.

Facilities

Edgewater Bay

1940 Edgewater Drive – (enclosed pavilion)

This is the City’s only year-round pavilion rental!

  • Facility dimensions: 72’ x 45′
  • 4,900 square feet
  • Holds up to 144 people
  • Hot and cold running water
  • Restrooms on site
  • Wood-burning fireplace
  • Full kitchen with refrigerator/freezer, oven and microwave
  • Heated and air-conditioned
  • Rental includes use of 144 folding chairs, 18 sixty-inch round tables, and 6 six-foot rectangular table
  • Adjacent playgrounds
  • Adjacent parking lot will remain open to other park users
  • $60 per hour for Albert Lea residents
  • $65 per hour for residents outside city limits 
  • $850 + tax for full-day rental (8 a.m.  – midnight)

Facility keys must be picked up at the temporary Recreation Office located at 414 Commercial St., the day before a weekday rental or the Friday before a weekend rental. The key must be returned the next day for a weekday rental and the following Monday for a weekend rental to avoid forfeiting the security deposit.  

Large Open Pavilion

1600 Edgewater Drive – (near bandshell)

  • Available for rent May 1 – Oct. 15
  • May rent full pavilion or half
  • If renting half, indicate north or south half

Note: Two different parties may rent both halves at the same time.

  • Full pavilion: Holds up to 200 people
  • Half pavilion: Holds up to 100 people
  • Cold running water
  • Electrical outlets
  • Wood-burning fireplace
  • Restrooms within walking distance
  • Adjacent playground
  • Adjacent parking area will remain open to other park users


Rates for full pavilion:

  • $50 per hour for Albert Lea residents
  • $55 per hour for residents outside city limits

Rates for half pavilion:

  • $25 per hour for Albert Lea residents
  • $30 per hour for residents outside city limits

Edgewater Park Cottage

1600 Edgewater Drive – (near open pavilion)

  • Available for rent May 1 –  Oct. 15
  • Holds 48 inside and 48 outside for a total of 96 people
  • Hot and cold running water
  • Restrooms within a short walking distance
  • Wood-burning fireplace
  • Kitchen with refrigerator/freezer, oven and microwave
  • Inside tables and chairs
  • Outside deck with picnic tables
  • Short walk from parking areas that will remain open to other park users
  • $30 per hour for Albert Lea residents
  • $35 per hour for residents outside city limits

Refundable security deposit required: $300 due at the time of key pick-up.

Bandshell at Edgewater Park

  • $60 per 4-hour period for Albert Lea residents
  • $65 per 4-hour period for residents outside city limits

Fountain Lake Park Gazebo

Open air gazebo built in 2000:

  • Available for rent May 1 –  Oct. 15
  • Overlooks Fountain Lake
  • Electricity available
  • Amphitheater seating
  • Note: Renter must provide own chairs for seating on greenspace near gazebo
  • Limited on-street parking with public parking lot nearby at the corner of Broadway Avenue and Fountain Street
  • $30 per hour for Albert Lea residents
  • $35 per hour for residents outside city limits

Pioneer Park Pavilion

  • Without kitchen: $20 per hour for residents outside city limits
