What's considered a "load"?

Other cities do this for two weekends, both Saturday and Sunday with reasonable hours.

I think they have to have a free day than the country people won't have their ditches filled with mattresses....

When I lived in St Peter we raked our leaves to the curb and the city cleaned them up for free

I would really like to see longer hours for this each year.

Why is this coming out now?? Why not 2 weekends since it is just being told?

Ahh you have a business in town 🤪

9:00 to noon is just not long enough for everyone to utilize this.

When i lived in the Backwoods of Alabama my Kinfolk Cousins actually slept in the Garbage for Warmth...😁🦨🥬

Connie Anfinson

The City does something good and the community does nothing but whine about it.

How about freezing how much?

How about making the hrs longer for people that actually work past noon.

3 hours?

When I lived in Stillwater, we would put our brush/leaves at end of driveway in appropriate bags and it was part of our garbage removal to help keep the city clean. I wish Albert Lea did the same. They also picked up funiture if left at end of drive way free of charge to keep the city clean.

Horrible

And it would be safest to walk on the sidewalks or paved paths on town where they are available. So many still walk on the road/street.

This goes for bikers too. Unfortunately, there are many people who do not know the rules of the road when biking.

There is also some drivers who will pull out right in front of people riding their bikes n walking!

The unfortunate dumbing down of America. At least the Farmer's rules have not lowered the common sense bar. "The dumb ones just don't make it".

Respect...Do unto others as you would do unto yourself, everyone in that predicament would be hurt

Thank you, good reminder!

They need to put cross walks and flashing yellow lights on bridge street by Eat's Ice cream. Lots of people get ice cream and try to cross that busy street (that no one stops for them) to the park to sit at the picnic tables.

Crosswalk etiquette in this town is terrible 😔

This is ridiculous, go back to teaching people to look out for traffic. Common sense is disturbingly missing...

I wish that law was followed by everyone, I was almost hit last year. The car was so close I banged on the trunk

Same for people riding bikes on the road they need to obey all traffic laws. I see a lot of them going against traffic, not stopping at stop signs or traffic lights and you guys don't do anything about it to enforce this. Anyone riding a bike needs to obey all traffic laws.

Severe Weather Awareness Week: Severe weather, lightning and hail

Thunderstorms: When a severe thunderstorm threatens, stay inside a strong structure. Mobile home occupants should go to a more permanent structure. Severe thunderstorms produce large hail or winds of at least 58 mph. Some wind gusts can exceed 100 mph and produce tornado-like damage. That’s why many communities will sound their outdoor sirens for damaging straight-line winds.

Hail: Most hail is about pea-sized. Much of it is the size of baseballs, and it can reach grapefruit-size.

Lightning: If you hear thunder, lightning is close enough to strike you. If you are caught outside with no safe shelter anywhere nearby the following actions may reduce your risk:

Immediately get off elevated areas such as hills, mountain ridges or peaks
Never lie flat on the ground
Never shelter under an isolated tree
Never use a cliff or rocky overhang for shelter
Immediately get out and away from ponds, lakes and other bodies of water

Severe Weather Awareness Week: Severe weather, lightning and hail

Thunderstorms: When a severe thunderstorm threatens, stay inside a strong structure. Mobile home occupants should go to a more permanent structure. Severe thunderstorms produce large hail or winds of at least 58 mph. Some wind gusts can exceed 100 mph and produce tornado-like damage. That’s why many communities will sound their outdoor sirens for damaging straight-line winds.
