Clark Street along Central Park in Albert Lea, from St. Mary to West Avenue, will be closed starting Monday, Sept. 9, for a roofing project at First Lutheran Church. Motorists and pedestrians will need to detour around this section of Clark Street until the project is done, expected in mid-October.

The existing roof is made of natural stone slate shingles that are heavy. The contractor will use a crane to remove an estimated 165 tons of materials. The street will be closed for the safety of pedestrians, motorists and workers.

For questions on the Clark Street closure, please call the City Engineering Department at 507-377-4325.
