Annual Chemical, Fuel & Bituminous Material

The City annually requests bids for suppling the City with the following items:

• ITEM A – Hydrofluosilicic Acid
• ITEM B – Liquid Chlorine
• ITEM C – Phosphate Inhibitor
• ITEM D – Gasoline & Diesel Fuel
• ITEM E – Bituminous Material

Items A – D are bid out in November and the Item E is bid out in April.

Annual Paint Striping

The City annually solicits quotes to perform the annual road striping of its 29 miles of Municipal State Aid streets.

Biennial Mosquito Control Contract

The City solicits quotes biennially for the application of pesticides within the City limits of Albert Lea for the purpose of controlling mosquito and other nuisance flying insects. The City desires a contractor capable of implementing a system that will achieve whole season control of nuisance insects while conforming to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) General Discharge Permit for this activity.

Biennial Bio-Solids Contract

This contract is bid out biennially. Work involves the removal, transportation, and land application of approximately 4.0 million gallons of biosolids to approximately 400 acres of approved cropland in the WWTP.
