Albert Lea house fire

City News June 17, 2026

Albert Lea Fire Rescue responded to 730 Alcove St. on June 17 at 12:17 a.m. for the report of a house fire.

Upon arrival, firefighters found fire showing on the north side of the home, coming out of a kitchen window. Firefighters extinguished the fire and remained on scene to cool any hot spots.

No one was home at the time of the incident. The house, which was previously deemed a full loss after a fire on April 25, had been placarded for being uninhabitable.

Department investigators contacted and coordinated with the Minnesota Fire Marshal’s Office.

The cause of the fire was determined to be arson as the utilities had been turned off after the previous fire, and weather was not a contributing factor.

If anyone has any information leading to a person of interest, please contact the Arson Hotline at 1-800-723-2020.

Albert Lea Police Department and Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
