What u assholes going to let all the blacks out of your jails and prisons for the day! Save taxpayers Half a Billion dollars in ONE day! Lmao 😂😆😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣#heckler and that's just the innocent ones across the NATION

The Albert Lea Police Department is aware of recent federal immigration enforcement activity in the area and wants to clarify our role.
ALPD enforces Minnesota state law and City ordinances. We do not enforce federal immigration law and do not participate in federal immigration operations. Those responsibilities rest solely with federal agencies, and we are not typically notified in advance of their activity.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is a federal law enforcement agency within the Department of Homeland Security. The Albert Lea Police Department does not have authority over federal agencies and does not direct or interfere with their operations. It is also important for the public to understand that obstructing federal law enforcement activity is unlawful.
Our priority is public safety. Officers may be present only to address safety concerns such as traffic control or maintaining order if gatherings occur. Our role in those situations is focused on safety and de-escalation, not immigration enforcement.
We ask community members to remain calm and peaceful, avoid behavior that aligns with obstructing federal law enforcement, and follow any lawful instructions from officers to help ensure everyone’s safety.
ALPD remains committed to serving Albert Lea with professionalism, respect, and a focus on public safety for all.

Thank you. Those ICE guys have Police on the back of their coats. They have not been trained as police and have no credentials. It is against the law to impersonate a police officer.
So if it is the police’s duty to serve and protect, if they observe an ICE agent breaking the law will they arrest them?
Thank you ALPD. Curious what the large presence of out of town K-9 units driving down Bridge at about 3pm was?
My Great Grand Father Miles Norton, who I'm named after, was chief of police in Albert Lea in the 1920's, or maybe after. During the Depression for sure. Maybe I should get a ALPD hoodie or something...
At least one department in the state tells people to stay out of their way thanks
What about provide support when crowd and traffic control are needed?
Thank you ALPD and ICE for keeping us safe!
Thank you for your statement. We need our immigrant community to know that they are safe to call you if they are in need of protection, if they are victims of violence, a car accident etc. I appreciate your statement.
Thank you ALPD and ICE.
I appreciate all that you do. You have an incredibly tough job and have my support! 💙🖤
Thank you ALPD for standing with ICE!
Thank you to our state and local law enforcement officers for all you do to keep us safe.
I like and respect the Albert Lea police department they're good people!!! Stay safe!
Filming ICE in public is a first amendment protected activity and is NOT interfering with their duties. The Supreme Court has upheld the public's right to record as freedom of speech. If ICE bothered to wear body cams, or conduct themselves in a transparent manner like a normal police force, maybe we wouldn't have such deep mistrust and feel a need to monitor their actions... this is the byproduct of people losing trust in accountability and transparency in their government.
Thank you ICE & ALPD!
We appreciate law enforcement & all that you do!
Thank you for protecting and serving! Where do we find contact information for their field office. We have lists of individuals, businesses, protest organizers, etc we would like to hand over.
Let me know if I can help the Police not ice
As long as your here legally no worries my god people!
Well done ALPD!
Well said. Stay safe.
Pray our officers all get home to their families 🙏🏼 💙🖤💙🖤
I'm Puertorrican , which means I'm usa citizen but anyways I'm feeling afraid , I carry all my documents like my social security card, certificate of birth and my mn driver license with me all the time, should I feel afraid?

LIGHTS ON: In Minnesota, state law requires you to use your headlights during inclement weather, any time it is raining, snowing, sleeting, or hailing and in times of low visibility, any time weather, smoke, fog, or other conditions make it hard to see. Do not rely on your "Auto" setting during these conditions. Manually switch your headlights to the "on" position to ensure your taillights are also activated, making you visible to drivers behind you. ... See MoreSee Less

Blows my mind how many people don't even know how to turn their lights on manually.
If you people can see what truck drivers can see when we are changing lanes, you'd have your lights on all the time
Running lights do not include your taillights. Need to manually turn headlights on for those.
Funny, I passed a police officer earlier today and his lights were not on, I wanted to blink my lights to let him know but I didn't want to get in trouble either lol. I know I had to manually put my lights on cause they automatically were off in the fog. Even with lights on it is hard to see traffic so YES please remember to turn your light on! Have a safe and happy day. Thanks for the good reminder! 🙂
I saw a sheriffs vehicle…no lights, not even daytime running lights. Just saying.
Nooo, takes too much effort to turn them on. 😂
Finally, too many people rely on their "automatic" headlights to just know they need to turn on. Some people say "my headlights turn on when the car is running even on bright sunny days". Those are the ones who don't understand about daytime safety lights and headlights!!! Thank you for putting this out there.
How about we just require lights on ALL THE TIME. Besides having to change lights a little more often, there is no negative and people would be safer and not forget to turn them on at right times
As a society of people who drive cars where the headlights come on automatically, many people are not aware that their lights have not come on in this type of weather. Time to read your owner's manual and learn where the manual and automatic light switches are. Then use the manual option during DAYTIME foggy/snowy times. You don't have to worry about this at night, as the automatic choice will work fine. When my headlights are on, I have a symbol on my dash that lights up and looks like a headlight icon. If the headlight icon is not lit up, my headlights are not on.
Yeah that's a good rule of thumb but I had seen Albert Lea Police Department driving around with no headlights I've seen Sheriff driving through town of Albert Lea with no headlights if they can't obey their law then how can they enforce it for us
My lights turn in automatically when I turn on my car, even the taillights, I only have to activate the brights
Should be common sense, oh wait that's not a thing anymore 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I've seen multiple law vehicles as well with no lights in during the inclement weather...but yes it needs to be followed whether just citizens or law enforcement...just my opinion...🤔
State troopers and other law enforcement should need to as well ! I’m not saying all , but definitely a lot out there that don’t in heavy fog rain heavy snow .
100%…. I just did a drive today and it’s crazy how many people aren’t using their lights and especially in this fog.. come on.. let’s be smarter drivers and safer for everyone
Just remember that includes the police cruisers also. So let's practice what we preach. I turn mine on manually cause it doesn't work with overcast like all models. I love my 2021 ford explorer because it's not an explorer unless you have platinum like I got massaging seats are the best also. Have a awesome beautiful day and night
Thank you for posting!! I am shocked at how many cars are on the road with NO lights at all.
Always thought it was a law
And stop the damn tailgaters!!!!
Just do the right thing like the Police DEPT. SAYS. Headlights on to protect you and other drivers. Take responsibility for your actions and choices.
About time you tell the public to turn them on! Got pulled over for the same thing during a storm and I see so many never having their lights on. It is very unsafe. Especially during storms, fog and rain.
Most cops don't do this, and then when you flash them you get pulled over.
Its not in forced
Should be common sense literally!
Exactly

City of Albert Lea - City Hall and Albert Lea Police Department start ticketing the cars NOW that have not moved all day so they get them off the street before 4am.
My Cousin Jethro sleeps inside one of those Garbage Dumpsters off the street...Please don't disturb him...🥶😫🥶
Please get Minnie Maddern St
Make sure you get Marshall and bridge
What I dont understand is: the 1st storm we had, you sent out the same type of message on FB. You stating, "use off street parking IF POSSIBLE". My friends car was ticketed to be moved. However, the car could not start so therefore it WASNT possible to move. So now they are out $80 to have it towed to a different place to avoid the city towing it AND paying to get it out. So you should probably not put IF POSSIBLE in your posts...
If available??????
Main roads were done but side streets are always missed or poorly maintained a little sand goes a long way after a plowing of streets for traction

Remember your second amendment right to defend yourself like the thugs in town, hiding their identities and taking people at gas stations in town. It is ok though. I am sure you are hoping the government will forget and keep giving you money. Protect your citizens. This is unlawful. All of this.
Sounds like ICE will be terrorizing the city of Albert Lea next.
So basically y'all are there to witness the Constitution being laughed at, rights be violated and do nothing 🤨🤔 gotcha. Seems to me if you do nothing and know about it you're just as guilty. Pathetic but typical government for you 🤷🏽♂️.
Thank you ALPD! We appreciate you all!
Only the illegal aliens and thug protesters need to feel terrorized.
Obstruction is a physical act, yelling, whistles and even following the is legal
Agree with this
If you haven't committed a crime ..no matter the color of your skin..you haven't got nothing to worry about.
Thank you for all you do!
.Are you turning over illegals to ICE
Math teacher here. Please show your work.
Glad that was said but I certainly hope someone would step in if someone was being beaten by a shovel.
Boo ALPD........law is law enforce it
Thank you Albert Lea police for all you do.
Fuck ICE and the ALPD
The Government took my baby 👶🐇👶
So people protesting remember to respect what is happening you do bad to federal agents the police are able to protect the agents like wise they do bad you get protection best way is don’t interfere
Let Them Do Their Jobs Getting Rid Of Criminals
Your job is to enforce the law, local or not. Your are to defend and protect. If you promised to do that then you should be 100 percent helping ICE. They are here getting criminals out. That protects the rest of the town. If you are there, then protesters as well won't do stupid things that could get them hurt and or the ICE agents hurt. Do your job and stop playing politics!
They do need warrants signed by a judge, do they not?

Prayers and support for all law enforcement
