Sorensen Road Watermain Replacement Project Updates – Job 2604
August 21, 2026 – Water service replacements south of Hammer Road were completed this week along with regrading the ditch south of Hammer Road in preparation for seeding and restoration. Set up for the temporary water supply for properties north of Hammer Road was also completed.
August 14, 2026 – This week the contractor completed watermain replacement between Hammer Road and the TH-65 intersection. Next week they will perform bacteria and pressure tests and complete the water service replacements for this section. They will also begin setting up the temporary water supply for the affected properties north of Hammer Road.
August 7, 2026 – Watermain replacement continued this week between Becker Drive and the Truck Highway 65 intersection. Next week, work will continue up to Hammer Road, followed by bacteria and pressure testing on that section. Water services will then be replaced before watermain replacement continues north of Hammer Road.
July 30, 2026 – This week the contractor completed the watermain replacement under the Sorensen Road street crossing near TH-65 and began replacing watermain going north. Next week they will continue replacing watermain in the east ditch going north between TH-65 and Hammer Road.
July 22, 2026 – The temporary water supply has been set up and affected properties connected to it. This week the contractor plans to complete the watermain replacement under the Sorensen Road street crossing near Th-65. Next week they will begin replacing watermain in the east ditch between TH-65 and Becker Drive.
July 17, 2026 – This week the contractor set up temporary traffic control and began laying out the temporary water supply pipe that will provide water to residences and businesses along the project corridor during the replacement. Watermain replacement will being next week, starting at the intersection of TH-65.
July 9, 2026 – The contractor will begin work next week. Setting up traffic control and a temporary water supply will take three to four days, after which work will start at the south end of the project near the intersection of TH-65.
June 26, 2026 – The contractor, GM Contracting, is tentatively scheduled to start work the week of July 13th.
