2025 Neighborhood Improvement Project Updates – Job 2501

September 5, 2025 – Sod was placed this week, the only remaining work is paint striping and punch list items.

August 28, 2025 – The bulk of work was completed this week. Work completed included culvert replacement and ditch cleaning on SE Marshall Street, installation of new asphalt pavement on SE Marshall Street, and installation of the bituminous overlay in the Crossroads Blvd. area and the west end of Lake Chapeau Drive.

Work remaining includes shouldering and paint striping on SE Marshall Street, turf restoration, general cleanup and punch list items. These items are expected to be completed in the next couple of weeks.

August 21, 2025 – All the concrete work was completed earlier this week. The contractor began milling on Lake Chapeau Drive today and will finish the rest of the milling in the Crossroads Trailer area tomorrow. They will place the overlay next week.

Work on SE Marshall will also begin next week with the reclamation of the existing bituminous surface.

August 14, 2025 – Work completed this week included replacement of miscellaneous curb & gutter in the mill & overlay areas, along with removal of payment and installation of the first lift of new asphalt on the reconstruction portion of Betha Larson Lane. Work expected next week includes completion of the curb & gutter replacements, perform edge milling in the overlay areas, and repair & adjust the manholes and water valve covers. Placement of the bituminous overlay is tentatively scheduled for the week of August 25-30.

Work on SE Marshall Street will also being next week. The contractor will reclaim the existing bituminous surface and will begin replacing the culvert between Blake Avenue and I-35. Traffic will be detoured to E. Main Street while this work is taking place.

August 1, 2025 – Ulland Brothers will start work on this project the week of August 4–8. The first phase of the project will be the replacement of settled or damaged sections of concrete curb & gutter on Lake Chapeau Drive and the Crossroads Blvd area. They will also remove the pavement and begin work on the portion of Betha Larson Lane that is being reconstructed. The reconstruction work is expected to last one to two weeks. Work on this section of road will be phased in order to allow access to the affected businesses at all times. Once this work is complete, the contractor will begin the process of edge milling and overlay the streets.

A firm start date has not been set for the work on SE Marshall Street, but work is expected to begin within the next two to three weeks.
