Community Development

Overview

The Community Development Department focuses on the sustainability, preservation and growth of the community as outlined by the Comprehensive Plan. This department also supports community and economic development, including:

• Planning assistance
• Site development
• Coordination with other city departments and partner agencies
• Administration of loan and grant programs

This department also supports the following volunteer boards that provide recommendations to the city council on growth, permitting and development:

• Planning Commission
• Heritage Preservation Commission
• Board of Zoning Appeals
