Parks Department Detail.

Overview

The Albert Lea Parks Department oversees more than 300 acres of parks throughout the community. All parks are open to the public free of charge.

Amenities vary by park location and include playgrounds, basketball courts, ballfields, soccer fields, tennis and pickleball courts, picnic areas, fishing areas and in the winter, outdoor rinks. There’s plenty of greenspace too for throwing frisbees, playing catch and other fun.

The Parks Department works closely with the Recreation Department to offer many fun activities throughout the year.

The Parks and Recreation Department also partners with several groups to hold events and festivals that provide activities for all ages. Be sure to visit Explore Albert Lea for more information.

Children wearing protective masks play archery tag on a grassy field, holding bows and collecting foam-tipped arrows. Trees and a playground are visible in the background.
