Sewer repair closes section of Bridge Avenue until sept. 3

Bridge Avenue will be closed from Ruble Avenue to Marshall Street while the Albert Lea Utilities Department repairs a sewer line. The repair is scheduled to start the morning of Aug. 26 and will be closed until Sept. 3. Please slow down, give crews space to work, and be on the lookout for detours.

Why the closures in this area?

1.      Last year: Reconstruction of Marshall and Sibley.

2.      Last winter: Security Bank repairing its sewer line.

3.      Current repair: City’s main sewer line that serves hundreds of homes and businesses.

Long-term solution: Slip-lining the sewer main in 2026.
