Welcome Officer Thorson

Albert Lea Police Officer Andrew Thorson took the oath of office at the Nov. 24 city council meeting. He began working for the Albert Lea Police Department (ALPD) in July and recently finished field training. He holds a bachelor of science degree in Criminal Justice from St. Mary’s University in Winona, Minn., and has experience working for the Blue Earth Police Department and Olmsted County Detention Center.
“Drew brings valuable experience from his past roles, and he’s put it to work from day one. His positive attitude and willingness to help the team make him an asset to the ALPD and our community,” said Police Chief Darren Hanson.
